Today in My Reading History

I've looked at this information from time to time on Goodreads, but I never thought to make it into a blog post until now! It all revolves around one question: what was I reading on this date in previous years?

I'm pretty excited for this because I can do it at random times in the future and the post will be different every time! Let me know if that's something you want to see!

I'm writing this post in advance, but I know when it's going up, so these are all accurate to posting date, October 14th! (Except maybe 2018 - I doubt I'll finish these books before the post goes up, but you never know!)

On this date in 2018, I'm reading...FURYBORN by Claire Legrand and UNBROKEN ed. by Marieke Nijkamp! I'm only about a chapter into FURYBORN, which I actually only picked up now because my library loan on THE QUEEN'S RISING expired, but so far, so good! I'm taking a little bit of a break from UNBROKEN, but I really like all the stories that I've read so far, and I'm going to pick it back up soon!

On this date in 2017, I was...not reading. The semester had swamped me. I hadn't read a book for almost two weeks (and that, even though it was AMELIA BEDELIA, was for school - I gave it 4 stars). The next book I read would be another children's book, this one for fun: CAROLINE TAKES A CHANCE by Kathleen Ernst, which I also gave 4 stars. I read from that book until the end of the series in one day!

On this date in 2016, I was reading...KISS CAM by Kiara London! I got this as an ARC and read it in two days. I gave it three stars, because even though there were a bunch of cute parts, I just kept thinking to myself: "this is not a good idea, and the characters are going to regret it." That did not make for a fun reading experience. You can read my review here.

On this date in 2015, I was reading...JUST LISTEN by Sarah Dessen! At least, I'm pretty sure. Goodreads says I didn't start it until the next day, but I'm not really the most accurate when it comes to start dates. I gave it 4 stars because it was a really great book, but I was a bit underwhelmed from everything I'd heard about it. 

On this date in 2014, I was reading...CHILDREN OF THE CITY by David Nasaw! For such a small book, this sure took me a while to get through - I was reading it for almost all of October! I ended up giving it 4 stars. It was absolutely fascinating, and it introduced me to other history books that I've also really enjoyed!

On this date in 2013, I was reading...GOOD OMENS by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett! Again, I'm pretty sure - same thing with Goodreads saying I started it a day later. This is a good one! There's going to be an Amazon Prime series of it soon, which I'm really excited for, but I definitely need to reread this before seeing it! I gave this 4 stars.

On this date in 2012, I was reading...THE HOBBIT by J.R.R. Tolkien! Another one that took me quite a while to get through! I gave it 4 stars, but honestly I think that's because I didn't hate it and thought I should have liked it more than I did. I don't recall particularly enjoying my reading experience.

 

This was really fun! I'd say this is a good day in my reading history - no favorites or 5-stars, but a bunch of books I really liked! I'm really excited to do more of these posts and see what went on on other days!
