Most Anticipated January 2019 Releases

New year, new books to anticipate! We're still doing this on a month-by-month basis, though - there's just no way I could fit all of my most anticipated books for the year into one post! Here are some of the books that release this month that I'm really excited to read. IN AN ABSENT DREAM by Seanan McGuire (Wayward Children #4) - January 8:   • new Wayward Children book!   • a prequel about Lundy!   • a new world to explore!!   • I really don't need to know anything else about this, I've gone into the other books with basically no information and it's all worked out so far OUR YEAR OF MAYBE by Rachel Lynn Solomon - January 15:   • ok so I've already read this one, but everyone else has to   • one of my favorite books of 2018   • anything Rachel Lynn Solomon writes is my new top priority and should be yours, too THE GILDED WOLVES by Roshani Chokshi (The Gilded Wolves #1) - January 15:     • historical fantasy, which I r...

Books that Changed My Life

I don't think that any book-lover can truthfully say that their life hasn't been changed by books. But what about specific books? For me, that was a bit harder. I saw this video on Sasha @ A Book Utopia 's channel, and when I first saw it, I didn't think that I'd have anything specific to say. But then, as I was writing my post about my unfinished series , I thought about how much Discworld has affected me, and that got me thinking about other books that have shaped my life. Here are four of the most important. THE WEE FREE MEN by Terry Pratchett: This is the series that helped inspire this post. I first read this series in third grade. I picked up A HAT FULL OF SKY in a bookstore in Florida, where my parents were trying to distract me from the fact that the reason we were across the county with no notice was because my grandpa had a stroke, and I didn't know it was the second books. When we got back, my mom got me the first book. I still have that ...

The Longest Books I've Ever Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature at That Artsy Reader Girl . This week's theme: Longest Books I've Ever Read. I don't read a ton of long books, but I certainly have read a few! I'm glad that this isn't a post I've done in the past, though, because the list wouldn't have changed all that much. Most of the books in my top ten longest have been there for a very long time. OK, some rules for this. Firstly, I'm not counting multiple books in the same series. Otherwise, this would be almost entirely books in the same couple of series, and that's no fun. If there are other books in the series that are at least as long as the ones on this list, I'll give them a quick mention in the slot for the one that is included. Secondly, I'm just going with whatever the page count is on my shelf on Goodreads. With some of these, there's a lot of editions with wildly varying page counts, and I don't have time to try and figure out exactly ho...

Most Anticipated October Releases

Apparently any regular posting schedule on this blog is a thing of fantasy, and I'm okay with that (at least for now). But even if I don't have a regular schedule, I'm going to try and post as much as I can through Blogtober! I found out about this challenge through Jenn @ Jenniely , and I'm so happy I found it before October officially starts! For today, it's time to talk about my most anticipated October releases , and there sure are a lot of them! It's a FANTASTIC month for YA releases, and I can't wait to get my hands on these! THE LADY'S GUIDE TO PETTICOATS AND PIRACY by Mackenzi Lee - October 2nd   • Felicity was one of my favorite parts of book one, so I fully expect to love her solo book even more   • I always want more queer historical fiction   • AROACE MAIN CHARACTER , THIS IS NOT A DRILL THE SPY WITH THE RED BALLOON by Katherine Locke - October 2nd   • ok so I've already read this but I HAVE to talk about it   • que...

This post is a little late, but it's always a great time to talk about my most anticipated books! This month, I'm bringing you TWICE as many books as the last couple of months, because these are too good to not talk about. PRIDE by Ibi Zoboi - September 18th   • Pride & Prejudice retelling   • looking at gentrification which makes a LOT of sense considering the original   • seems like Darcy and Bingley are going to be brothers which opens up a lot of cool possibilities   • PRIDE & PREJUDICE RETELLING     UNBROKEN ed. by Marieke Nijkamp - September 18th   • another of the many YA anthologies that I've been seeing and loving   • focusing on disability! which is something that I almost never see!!   • so many authors that I've been meaning to read things by! A BLADE SO BLACK by L.L. McKinney - September 25th   • I LIVE for Alice in Wonderland stuff   • I've heard such good things!   • THAT. COVE...
