Review: Ever the Hunted

Title: Ever the Hunted Author: Erin Summerill Series: Clash of Kingdoms #1 Length: 400 pages Published by: HMH Books for Young Readers Publication date: December 27, 2016 Diversity: none Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ Source: eARC via Netgalley Don't you just love when a book reminds you how much you love reading? I got so lost in this one - the excitement of a whole new fantasy world to explore, all these characters to find out about, and the mystery going through it all kept me hooked. It was such a fun read! It didn't take long for th is book to start reminding me of other books - but that's not a bad thing! First ly, because it reminded me of books that I like d, and secondly, it only reminded me of bits and pieces of each of those books, and used those to create a whole new story. A girl who's really good at tracking / hunting and is punished for it wil l always remind me of ACOTAR. A main character finding out that a trust e d friend killed their father will a...

Book Review: Labyrinth Lost

Title: Labyrinth Lost Author: Zoraida Córdova Series: Brooklyn Brujas #1 Length: 336 pages Published by: Sourcebooks Fire Publication date: September 6, 2016 Diversity: Most characters are Latina/Afro-Latina; Hindu character; two queer characters (no labels used) Rating: ★ ★ ★ ★ Source: eARC from NetGalley This book was so unique. Shahrzad retorted. 'I suspect she will be like air. Like knowing how to breathe.'" This quote is a bout a person instead of a book, but describes exactly what The Wrath and the Dawn was to me. I couldn't put this book down! I t feels like I was looking for this book without even knowing it. It was exciting and dragged me in so completely that inhaling is th e best word I could think of for reading it. For a glorious day, it was my air. Here's the si x main reasons I loved this book so much. 1) The stories . Of course, we have the main story about Shahrz...
