Rereading A Series of Unfortunate Events

In case you've missed the general screaming of the bookish community for the past month or so, A Series of Unfortunate Events is a Netflix series! And it's AMAZING. I watched the whole thing the day it came out and I'm absolutely hooked. I can't wait for seasons 2 and 3! (And if it somehow doesn't get renewed, you'll have to console me for the rest of my life.) After finishing, I needed something to fill the gaping hole in my life, but there's nothing quite like that series. So I decided to reread all of the books! I remember loving it the first time I read it, but that was in elementary school, so I was a little wary about them not living up to my memories.   Good news: the books are still amazing! I think they might have even been better this time around, because there was just so much that I missed when reading it the first time!  I think the main thing that I missed was how dark the books are. I guess that even though I knew what was generall...

Series I Want to Reread

Something I've learned over the past few da y s: I app arently have absolutely no time to write new blog posts during the week. I'm not exactly sure why I'm su rprised by this , but in any case, it explains why this post is a little bit later than anticipated. I'm going to do my best to have more scheduled posts from now on. About a week ago , I posted the list of standalones that I want to reread . These two were going to be in the same post, a nd then it got way too long for that.  I probably won't be getting to all of these an ytime soon. Re reading an entire series is much more of a com mitment than re reading one book, and I want to marathon all of the books in each series .   The Peter and the Starcatchers series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson: This is probably the one that I'm most excited to reread. I haven't been ab le to get it out of my hea d lately! I don't actually want to reread the entire series for this one - the fifth ...

Standalones I Want to Reread

Recently, I've been thinking a lot about rereading books. I read a lot, but I can never seem to find time to revisit old favorites. There's so many amazing books that I want to read again , and since I don't want to forget about them, I figured that I might as well make a post about it. This is actually only going to be the first post on th is subject . I was going to put everything I want to reread in one post, but the list go t too long. Way too long. There were enough series that I decided to make those into a separate post, which I'll publish in a week or so.   For a book to be on this list, it has to fit a few requirements: I liked it the first time I read it (of course) It's either a standalone or th e first book in a seri es for which I don't w ant to reread the other books I haven't read it for at least a year. This is the main reason that this list isn't entirely Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. A lot of ...
