Most Anticipated July Books

I don't always read books when they're first released - in fact, it's more common that I don't - but I don't want to miss out on contributing to the buzz that happens around a book's release! That being said, I'm going to make a post every month highlighting some of my most anticipated releases.

 There aren't a lot of books releasing in July that I know of, but here are two that I'm really excited to read!
KILL THE FARM BOY by Delilah S. Dawson and Kevin Hearne (The Tales of Pell #1) - July 17
  • apparently "irreverent fantasy" is pretty much my favorite thing, and it includes THE PRINCESS BRIDE, Terry Pratchett, and this 
  • the villain wants cheese, I can relate
  • I never knew I needed a trash-talking goat until now
  • Once. A pun. A time.

HEART OF THORNS by Bree Barton (Heart of Thorns #1) - July 31
  • cool women with magic
  • MC who has to reconsider everything when it turns out she has magic
  • I heard it described as GRACELING meets PRIDE & PREJUDICE, which...yes, please!

My Ten Most Disappointing Reads

As I've read more books, I've generally gotten better at telling whether I'm going to like a book before I read it. Sometimes, though, books trick me - I look at them, think I'm going to love them, and then I don't. That really annoys me, but it makes for good post material - basically, this whole post is going to be me venting about books I really wanted to love. THE WINNER'S CURSE by Marie Rutkoski: I heard so many great things about this series - I still do - and I just don't get it. I read the first book, and I didn't care about anything that was going on, and at this point, there's no way that I'm finishing the series. Ten Unique Books I've Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature at The Broke and the Bookish . This week's theme: ten of the most unique books I've read! ILLUMINAE by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff: This one's mostly about the way the story is told. I absolutely love how so many different formats are used and how they all come together to form one story! SIX OF CROWS by Leigh Bardugo: No matter how hard I try, I can't think of any books that compare to this. When you combine the setting and the multiple perspectives and the heist aspect, you get something totally unique.   WOLF BY WOLF by Ryan Graudin: Alternate histories aren't really anything new, but alternate histories plus powers plus motorcycle races?
