Favorite Blogs I Discovered in 2016

I made this mini-announcement on Twitter, but I forgot to put it in my last post, so here it is: because of all of the really great 2016 wrap-up posts I want to do, I'm abandoning my normal posting schedule and posting every day from yesterday until the end of the year! I'm going out with a bang! (And then, depending how I feel, I might take a bit of a break, because this is fun but it's also a lot.) Here's day 2 - all of my favorite blogs I've discovered in 2016.

One of my favorite parts of blogging this year has been discovering other people's blogs. I haven't spent as much time doing that as I would have liked, but I've still managed to find quite a few blogs that I really love keeping up with.

Before I get to the list, however: since I didn't get to make one of these posts in 2015 (as I'd barely started blogging), I have to mention Cait @ Paper Fury and Liz @ Out of Coffee, Out of Mind, whose blogs I discovered pretty quickly after entering the blogging world and who I still love.

And now, in no particular order, here are my favorite blogs I've discovered in 2016.

I think I found Adalyn on bookstagram. (Remember when I used to be active there?) Her feed is absolutely gorgeous, and as it turns out, her blog is just as wonderful. She puts together great lists and brings up really interesting discussion topics.

I can't remember how I found Emma's blog, but I'm really glad I did. Some of my favorite posts of hers are her "So You Like..." posts, where she chooses anything from a Hogwarts house to a Disney Princess, and recommends a bunch of books related to them - and based on the books, I've read, they're spot-on!

Nicole always impresses me with how in-the-know she is about everything. Her Sunday Posts are the best resources I've seen for giveaways and pre-order deals. She also writes a lot of thoughtful discussion posts that really make me think.

Cait is one of those incredible people who's somehow capable of doing absolutely everything. Her blog is always up-to-the-minute on new releases, her bookstagram is flawless, and she reads so many books every year! She mostly posts reviews on her blog, and they're all so well-written and concise. She's convinced me to read or not read quite a few books.

I haven't been following Alice's blog for long, but I'm so happy I found it! I especially love her Top Ten Tuesday posts - they've always either shown that we have a lot of bookish things in common or introduced me to books that I immediately put on my TBR!

I can't actually remember whether I found Cilla's blog last year or this year, but I'm just going to say this year. Anyway, Cilla always has really interesting discussion posts about topics that I've never even thought of before, and I always love hearing what she has to say.

Another blog that I've discovered more recently. I actually think I might have discovered Paige through Twitter - I know I've been following her there for a while now! Regardless, I can't even begin to count the number of times that she's made me laugh on either platform. She always brings a smile to my face!

Okay, of course Sky's going to be on here - she's one of my best friends, and after all the time I've spent bugging her to be more active on her blog, there's no way I've not giving her a shout-out. If you like any of the books you've found through my blog, or if we agree on a lot of books, you're going to want to follow her - we're basically bookish twins!

What are some of your favorite blogs you've discovered this year? Any blogs you love that I should check out? Tell me in the comments!

    1. You're welcome! I wish I could help with you not having seen the post - I really don't know what's going on there. I know that I've forgotten to verify e-mail subscriptions a couple of times, but I don't even know whether mine's one you need to verify. But I'm glad you ended up seeing this, however you came across it!

Most Anticipated Reads: First Half of 2017

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature at The Broke a nd the Bookish . This week's theme : most an ti cipated reads for the first half of 2017. Wow, it's been ages since I've done a most anticipated list! In case you were wondering, my excitement for upcoming books is a s high as ever. It was so hard narrowing this list down to just ten, but I think I figured out the ten books that I'm most excited for in the first half of next year! I have a good mix of sequels and standalones (but onl y one debut, so there won't b e a lo t of overlap wi th the de buts TTT in a few weeks). Here are some of the books that I just can't contain my excitement about : OUR OWN PRIVATE UNIVERSE by Robin Talley - January 31: I love Robin Talley, and this book sounds like it's going to be so good! And it's going to have so much intersectionality! And the colors on that cover are just so aesthetically pleasing. DREAMLAND BURNING by Jennifer Latham - February

Ten Books I Need More People to Love

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature at The Broke and Bookish. This week's theme: Top Ten Underrated/Hidden Gem Books You've Read in the Past Year or So. One of my favorite things to do is get other people to read books I love. That way, I can discuss the boo ks with them, and if I know their tastes well enough, I know I'm givin g them something that they'll love! Unfortunately, I can't do this with the entire world. And that means that there are books that I've really enjoyed t hat just aren't widely loved. Why ? I don't know. And that's why I spend so much time trying to get other people to read them. Here are ten books I've read some what recently that I think really deserve some m ore lo ve. IRON CAST by Destiny Soria: I'll never get tired of diverse books, I 'll never get tired of historical fiction, and I'll never get tired of positive female friendships. My Top Ten Books of 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly f eature at The Broke and the Bookish . This week's theme: top ten books of 2016. A little less than a year ago, I started my blog by making a post of my top 10 favorite books of 2015 . And now here we are again! I've come so far in blogging , and it 's really amazing to be creating the same kind of post as my fi rst one again - but I'l l save the nostalgia for my blogo versary post later this week. Last year, all of the books on my list were also on my all-time favorites list. I didn't quite read ten all-time favorites this year, so I added a couple of five-star but not-quite-favorite books to this post. I also didn't include any rereads on this list - I reread quite a few favorite books this year, and that wouldn't be fair to the rest! But anyway, here are my ten favorite books that I read in 2016. 10. THUD! by Terry Pratchett (Discworld #34) I don't think it would really be a list of my favorite books from a ye
