Road Trips and Epic Quests: Books with Journeys

Summer is a time to go places. There's nice weather (depending on your definition of nice), lots of free time (hopefully), and so many places to travel!

But for those of us who are a bit more comfortable traveling through books as opposed to going places ourselves, there are plenty of stories that deal with not only the exciting destination, but the path it takes to get there. From the road trips of contemporary novels to time travel, here are ten of my favorite books that revolve around going places.

Most Anticipated Reads: First Half of 2017

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature at The Broke a nd the Bookish . This week's theme : most an ti cipated reads for the first half of 2017. Wow, it's been ages since I've done a most anticipated list! In case you were wondering, my excitement for upcoming books is a s high as ever. It was so hard narrowing this list down to just ten, but I think I figured out the ten books that I'm most excited for in the first half of next year! I have a good mix of sequels and standalones (but onl y one debut, so there won't b e a lo t of overlap wi th the de buts TTT in a few weeks). Here are some of the books that I just can't contain my excitement about : OUR OWN PRIVATE UNIVERSE by Robin Talley - January 31: I love Robin Talley, and this book sounds like it's going to be so good! My Ten Most Disappointing Reads

As I've read more books, I've generally gotten better at telling whether I'm going to like a book before I read it. Sometimes, though, books trick me - I look at them, think I'm going to love them, and then I don't. That really annoys me, but it makes for good post material - basically, this whole post is going to be me venting about books I really wanted to love. THE WINNER'S CURSE by Marie Rutkoski: I heard so many great things about this series - I still do - and I just don't get it.
